spic macay - simply inspiring

Life has its own way of playing games with us. To attain relaxation we run behind money. And in the process we forget what relaxation really is. In order to see and guarantee that our child has the same secured future that we do or dont, we pressurise them into academics. There are so many cases of burn outs and recent suicides amongst the new generation youth that it saddens you and helps you but wonder ,” is it worth it?”
Is sacrificing ones life worth the performance you do in your board exams? No it definitely isn’t. as they say birth and life is not in our hands. Right from the time a child is born till the time he dies everything is planned for him. But why go against nature and do something forced?
It is because todays life has only work and no relaxation. If we don’t let our minds rest, obviously our minds would give up on us.
It should be given a chance to relax
Any chance we get to relax, we try opting for discos and pubs where the loud music does everything but sooth your mind. Why choose glamour above sanity?
Have we tried going to the amazing classical concerts organised by societies like SPICMACAY (society for the promotion of Indian classical music and culture amongst youth)? No.
Have we tried being patient enough to give it a try? No.
Why not?
Why cant we for once, try something that has proven to heal our frustrated soul and mind?
That’s right. Classical music has the power of healing our mind. Our India is the proud possessor of this culture.
Right from its classical dancing like kathak and kathakali, to music ranging from sitar to sarod and tabla Indian culture boasts all.
SPICMACAY is an organization that brings forward such Indian culture and rich heritage to us.
It conducts various kinds of shows and culture all through out India and abroad in its mission of promoting Indian classical music amongst youth and us Indian.
This year spicmacay brings forward various kinds of events and concerts and workshops ranging from a sitar recital by the most famous sitar player ever. Pt. ravi shankar to a kathakali dance performance by padmashree kalamandalam gopi to live puppetry and yoga workshops.

Why don’t we give it a try this year? After all it wont do us any bad to witness and get enlightened a little about our own mother soil’s heritage would it?
